The University of Primorska Academic Choir was founded in 2004. Its 35 singers are mostly students of the University of Primorska, as well as some other choral enthusiasts. The choir’s musical choices cover almost all musical styles from Renaissance to modern. APZ UP constantly encourages writing of new works and enriches the choral music library by commissioning new choral pieces and performing them.

 

In its 17 years of activity, the choir became an important ambassador of the University of Primorska and a promoter of new arts at concerts and on CDs, which only prove the importance of APZ UP’s projects. APZ UP regularly performs in Slovenia and internationally. Their quality was proven on the national choral competitions by five golden plaques and by highest placings in international competitions.
