Detska Kitka Choir, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

The Detska Kitka Choir was set up in 1947. It is one of the oldest and most famous children's and girls' choirs in Bulgaria.
 
It gained international fame under the leadership of Zlatina Deliradeva in the 80s and 90s of the 20th century and early 21st century, winning awards from some of the most prestigious international choral competitions in Europe.
 
In 2011 Yana Deliradeva became the artistic director with whom the choir participated in national music and choral festivals in the cities of Varna, Gotse Delchev, Kazanlak, Plovdiv, Sofia, Shumen and Yambol; the International Festivals "Let the Future Sing", Stockholm, Sweden (2015) and Trillme International Girls' Choir Festival, Poznan, Poland (2016). The choir won the silver medal in Celje, Slovenia (2013), four awards from “Black Sea Sounds”, Balchik, Bulgaria (2017) and the gold medal in the World Peace Choral Festival, Vienna, Austria (2018). The choir is a frequent partner of the State Opera Plovdiv.
 
Since 2013 the pianist of choir has been Sonya Zapryanova, who works and plays on stage with the four singing groups of the Detska Kitka Choir.
 
The four singing groups of the Detska Kitka Choir, namely preparatory, internship, junior concert and concert, consist of 130 young female singers, aged 7 to 19, studying at 35 schools in the city of Plovdiv.
