Galina Lukanova
Conductor of the St. Paraskeva Academic Choir
Galina Lukanova is a graduate of the National Academy of Music, a student in the choral conducting class of Prof. Georgi Robev and Prof. Teodora Pavlovich. She participated in the masterclass of the European Academy for Young Choral Conductors, Marktoberdorf, Germany, taught by Prof. W. Hempfling (Germany) and Prof. F. Ledger (Great Britain). She received her PhD in folklore and is senior assistant professor at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore with the Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
She has been choirmaster and conductor of the St. Paraskeva Choral School, conductor of the "Paroria" Chamber Male Choir and "Zvezditsi" Children's Choir, Sofia, solfège and choir teacher at the National School of Music and Performing Arts, the city of Burgas, part-time assistant professor at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She is assistant conductor of the Vassil Arnaudov Chamber Choir, Sofia. In the period 2015-2018 she was Chairperson of the Bulgarian Choir Union.
