Bodra Smyana Choir
The choir was founded in December 1946 by the noted conductor and music teacher Boncho Bochev, who led it almost until his death in 1975. Under his leadership, the choir received worldwide recognition.
Liliana Bocheva continues her father's work, and under her leadership "Bodra Smyana" is finally established as one of the best children's choirs in the world. After her death in 2005, the conductorship was taken over by long-time choir accompanist Svetla Beshovishka, who worthily continued the tradition of Boncho and Liliana Bochevi.
Since 2010, the conductor of the choir is Alexander Kochkov. Under his leadership, the choir continues its successful participation in numerous festivals, sings together with the Sofia Philharmonic, performs solo concerts, expands its repertoire. In 2018, it performed a solo concert in front of the Bulgarian community in Budapest, and in 2019 it won the grand prize of the Ohrid municipality for its participation in the days of Bulgarian culture. In 2021 and 2022, it participated in the initiatives of the Bulgarian Choir Union "Bulgaria Sings" and "The Children's Choir of Bulgaria", and in 2022 it made a national tour within the international project "Bulgaria - Norway Sing".
